Tea has brought many people close to our hearts. We warm towards all who have given their might to put Ceylon on the map of the tea-loving world. These people have dedicated their efforts and skill at plucking the bud and two leaves with a gentleness they have not experienced in their lives. Its their love of their work that makes the taste impeccably rich, smooth and unique. We have embarked on a mission to give back to those who gave and continue to give their best, adding value to our country's main commercial crop of green gold.
We believe, Ceylon Fresh Teas can make a difference in their lives. We have centred our focus on the estate children and since our inception have started a project to shed a little light in to their lives giving them opportunity to shine. Sachi is one such little one on her way up the ladder of learning. She has a long way to go. But we want to make sure, that she and her little friends, who live a modest life and study in thatched huts that are make shift schools, in the tea estates, while their parents work hard to produce bounty in tea, have a better day in their future.
We have launched Fresh Teas Education Fund (FTEF) with the self same passion, we feel over tea. Every 100 grams you purchase will have 50 cents put by in the Fund, with love, to illuminate their future.
Sachi is our symbol of the future of our youth who deserve much. Her smile speaks volumes and her eyes tell us of her many dreams. We want to do our might to make the dreams of Sachi and her little friends come true. We believe we CAN.
We have distributed many books to Estate school libraries and lately have opened our first library in an estate, from where we purchase most of our tea, due to their enhanced quality and soul. We have todate given away scholarships to 159 deserving students in the rural estate sector. We want to expand the scope of our project with more ambitious activity this year.
Charity begins at home and we are firm believers of its essence, that we, since the inception made sure every child of our employees get an entire schooling package with our compliments at the dawn of every new year. It includes clothes to books to school bags to raincoats to school stationery that every child requires for the year. These little acts of kindness have made us better people and the relationship we have with our employees is one of great depth and understanding that we are there for them and they have a natural bent to give of their very best at work. Our feelings are mutual and very satisfying.
After all, life is all about relationships and the joy of contentment it brings.
